A new wave gay and lesbian activism is spreading across the US this week as opponents of the recent same-sex marriage bans are declaring "no more mr nice gay". Television comic Wanda Sykes was one of dozens of celebrities to join the protests, but decided now was the time to make more personal stand and come out.

WORLD AIDS DAY
1 December 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day. Volunteer to sell ribbons, or come along to the many events that will be held to remember whose have died, and raise money to support those living with HIV/AIDS.
